What is the unit on the Y axis? I know it is individuals, but is it thousands? Tens of thousands?

Interesting! I’m trying to think more about various ways to discuss and depict data this fall...and which independent variables I can use. Do we know what’s implicated in these differences in grip strength? Is it about overall arm musculature...?

It is hand and forearm muscle strength. It turns out that this is a predictor of various health outcomes, especially as one gets older, as well as a proxy for overall strength.
