I'd imagine per capita emissions and/or GDP emissions intensity will fall by a fair bit. But if we increase global growth from 2-3 percent per year to 3-5 percent per year due to the renewables boom, we would be in a vastly better position to deal with any climate adaptation challenges.
Good point. In general, the wealthier people are, the more they are concerned about the future. It is difficult to worry about climate change when you are living paycheck to paycheck. Further, as you note, more wealth would provide more resources for adaptation. If a renewable boom can help, I'm all for it.
